Airbus Faces Crucial December to Reach 2024 Aircraft Delivery Goal

“Airbus is facing a tough December to reach its 770 aircraft delivery goal for 2024. Despite delivering 84 aircraft in November, 127 more are needed to meet the target.”

Airbus is entering a critical December as it strives to meet its 770 aircraft delivery target for 2024. In November, the company delivered a record 84 aircraft to 42 customers, achieving its highest monthly performance. So far, a total of 643 aircraft have been delivered, but 127 more are needed to hit the target.

December presents challenges due to the holiday season and ongoing supply chain constraints. However, as in previous years, deliveries tend to increase significantly in the final month. In December 2023, Airbus delivered 112 aircraft.

Supply Chain Challenges and Engine Shortages

One of the primary hurdles Airbus faces in meeting its target is supply chain issues, particularly the shortage of major components like engines. These ongoing challenges have forced the company to adjust its delivery expectations.

Plans for Next Year

Airbus CEO Guillaume Faury has stated that before setting a new delivery target for 2025, the company must first gain a clear understanding of the supply chain situation. Faury emphasized the need for a more cautious approach based on available supply.
