airBaltic and SUA Lineas Aereas Partnership: A New Era in Latin America

Latvia’s national airline, airBaltic, has signed a strategic partnership with the newly established Latin American carrier SUA Líneas Aéreas. Set to begin in 2025, this collaboration will bring airBaltic’s expertise and technology to SUA Líneas Aéreas while accelerating the European airline’s entry into the Latin American market.

The agreement includes the wet lease of five Airbus A220-300 aircraft. As part of this cooperation, airBaltic will share its fleet management techniques and airline operational technologies with SUA Líneas Aéreas, supporting its growth. In return, airBaltic will gain new regional development opportunities in Latin America.

SUA Líneas Aéreas CEO Antonio Rama highlighted the significance of this alliance, stating:

“Through this partnership, we will benefit from airBaltic’s experience in critical areas such as fleet management, operational efficiency, and personnel training. This will provide us with the necessary tools to develop a customer-focused operation.”

SUA Líneas Aéreas is expected to commence operations in the last quarter of 2025. Meanwhile, airBaltic has already achieved major milestones in 2024, including serving 8.3 million passengers and receiving multiple industry awards. The airline anticipates further expansion and growth in 2025.

This strategic partnership will enable airBaltic to expand its operations in Latin America. With flights planned between key cities in Uruguay, Argentina, Brazil, and Chile, airBaltic aims to strengthen its presence in the region by leveraging new market opportunities.
