Air India and Singapore Airlines (SIA) have significantly expanded their existing codeshare agreement, adding 11 Indian cities and 40 international destinations to their new partnership deal. This expansion will offer passengers greater flexibility and travel options while strengthening the strategic collaboration between the two leading airlines.
New Codeshare Flights Starting October 27, 2024
Under the agreement, starting from October 27, 2024, Singapore Airlines and Air India will operate joint flights between Singapore and the Indian cities of Bengaluru and Chennai. This move is seen as an important step in expanding the regional and international flight networks of both airlines.
New Connections for Air India and Singapore Airlines Passengers
Singapore Airlines passengers will be able to use Air India’s domestic flights to travel between major Indian cities, including:
- Delhi to Amritsar, Bengaluru, Coimbatore, Lucknow, and Varanasi
- Mumbai to Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bengaluru, Coimbatore, Goa, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, and Thiruvananthapuram
On the other hand, Air India passengers will gain access to Singapore Airlines’ extensive international network, reaching 29 different destinations in Australia, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, and Vietnam. Key cities include:
- Australia: Adelaide, Brisbane, Cairns, Darwin, Melbourne, Perth, Sydney
- Japan: Fukuoka, Nagoya, Osaka, Tokyo-Haneda, Tokyo-Narita
- South Korea: Busan, Seoul
- Vietnam: Danang, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City
New Flight Destinations in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa
Air India passengers will also be able to fly to 12 international destinations in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa via Kuala Lumpur, with connections through Bengaluru, Delhi, and Mumbai. These cities include:
- Copenhagen (Denmark)
- Paris (France)
- Frankfurt (Germany)
- Milan (Italy)
- Nairobi (Kenya)
- Amsterdam (Netherlands)
- Jeddah and Riyadh (Saudi Arabia)
- Colombo (Sri Lanka)
- Birmingham, London-Gatwick, and London-Heathrow (United Kingdom)
This new partnership will expand the global reach of both airlines, offering passengers a broader travel network and making travel between India and the Asia-Pacific region more convenient.
