Bolat noted that during the opening ceremony, they had the opportunity to present Turkish Airlines’ vision of “Bringing Türkiye to the World” to President Erdoğan. In his statement, he said:
“As Turkish Airlines, we serve as a bridge that carries not only people but also ideas, emotions, stories, and cultural values to all corners of the world. With our flights to 353 destinations in 131 countries across 6 continents, we represent the historical and cultural richness of our country on a global scale, assuming the role of a cultural ambassador.”
A Corporate Vision That Supports Art
Touching upon Turkish Airlines’ vision for culture and art, Bolat emphasized that they have made the artistic sensibility inspired especially by Classical Turkish Arts and the ancient civilizations of Anatolia, as well as our shared cultural heritage, an integral part of their corporate identity.
“We place great importance on making these cultural traces visible in many areas—from in-flight experiences to promotional products, from passenger lounges to our commercials. Our goal is not only to provide a means of transportation to our passengers but also to offer them a meaningful cultural experience. With this approach, we not only promote our country’s values but also strongly support artists and cultural production.”
Contribution to the Art Economy and Cultural Tourism
Bolat also emphasized the economic potential of the global art market and the impact of art fairs on urban economies:
“It is estimated that global art sales reached $65 billion in 2023. Considering that the ‘Art Basel Miami Beach’ fair alone hosted over 90,000 visitors in 2024 and generated $547 million in economic activity, the contribution of cultural events to city economies is clearly evident. In this context, increasing the international visibility of cultural and artistic events held in our country is of great importance in contributing to cultural tourism.”
Thanks to President Erdoğan
At the end of his statement, Bolat expressed his gratitude to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for his ongoing support of traditional arts and extended his best wishes to the institutions and artists who brought the Yeditepe Biennial to life.
