Brazilian aviation giant Embraer has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Łukasiewicz – Institute of Aviation (Łukasiewicz – ILOT), one of Europe’s leading aviation research institutes, to develop new aircraft technologies and materials.
The signing ceremony took place in Warsaw, with Sylwester Wyka, Acting Director of Łukasiewicz – ILOT, and Francisco Gomes Neto, President and CEO of Embraer, signing the agreement. Founded in 1926, Łukasiewicz – ILOT is renowned for its research in aviation, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and space technologies.
Under this collaboration, joint projects will be conducted to develop aviation materials, future flight technologies, aircraft design, and maintenance processes.
Embraer CEO Francisco Gomes Neto in Poland: New Investments in Aviation and Defence
During his visit to Poland, Embraer CEO Francisco Gomes Neto explored opportunities for collaboration in defence and commercial aviation.
The company aims to contribute $3 billion to Poland’s economy over the next 10 years by expanding its manufacturing and assembly operations in the country. Additionally, these projects are expected to create around 5,000 new jobs.
One particularly notable initiative is Embraer’s plan to establish an assembly line in Poland for the KC-390 Millennium aircraft. This project is projected to generate $1 billion in revenue and create 600 jobs.
In line with the company’s strategy to enhance its production capacity in the aviation sector, more than $2 billion in investment and the creation of over 4,400 new jobs are anticipated.
These developments will not only strengthen Embraer’s presence in Europe but also establish Poland as a key manufacturing hub.
