According to a decision published in the Official Gazette, the terminal buildings of Atatürk Airport are being transformed into a technology hub. The Minister of Industry and Technology, Mehmet Fatih Kacır, announced on his social media account that the new technopark will operate under the name “Terminal Istanbul”.
Kacır emphasised that the technopark, to be established under the umbrella of Bilişim Vadisi (Informatics Valley), will become one of the world’s largest centres for technological entrepreneurship. He stated, “Under the Terminal Istanbul brand, thousands of tech start-ups will be born, grow, and connect with investors in this centre.”
Minister Kacır also noted that the project would not be limited to the entrepreneurship ecosystem alone, adding, “Together with numerous stakeholders from the public and private sectors, we will transform Istanbul into a global entrepreneurship hub. The science centre, software and artificial intelligence school, and technology workshops to be established within the centre will cater to different age groups.”
