Marking a historic milestone for the air cargo industry, the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) held its first Global Air Cargo Summit in Antalya. Hosted by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation under the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Türkiye, the summit welcomed over 500 participants from 80 countries. As one of the main sponsors, MNG Airlines strongly demonstrated its commitment to building a more sustainable, inclusive, and equitable global air cargo sector.
Comprehensive Commitments from MNG Airlines
Operating in air cargo transportation since 1996 and ranked among Türkiye’s leading private cargo airlines, MNG Airlines presented ICAO with a strategic set of commitments during the summit. These included:
-
Regular sponsorship support for ICAO events,
-
Annual donations to support ICAO initiatives,
-
Contributions to the NGAP scholarship programme for young professionals,
-
Support for the development of the Air Cargo iPack system.
ICAO Secretary General Thanks MNG
In his speech at the summit, ICAO Secretary General Juan Carlos Salazar emphasised that the support provided by MNG Airlines was not only for the present but also an investment in the future of aviation. Salazar stated:
“As we move forward with our principle of ‘No Country Left Behind’, the contributions of visionary stakeholders like MNG Airlines inspire our journey of transformation.”
“No Company Should Be Left Behind”
MNG Airlines CEO Ali Sedat Özkazanç highlighted the vital role that SME-scale air cargo operators play in global trade. He noted that smaller operators strengthen global connectivity by operating in markets that larger firms often hesitate to enter.
“Air cargo doesn’t just need more capacity; it needs a stronger voice. ICAO’s vision of ‘No Country Left Behind’ resonates with us as a call for ‘No Company Left Behind’,” he said.
Strategic Partnership for Industry Transformation
The summit focused on key themes shaping the future of the air cargo industry — from sustainability and digitalisation to capacity development and inclusive growth. MNG Airlines’ long-term partnership with ICAO is seen not only as financial support, but as a strategic commitment to driving transformation across the sector.
