The Bodrum district of Muğla has welcomed the first group of tourists for the 2025 tourism season. The first passengers of the season arriving from the UK were greeted with a ceremony at Milas-Bodrum Airport. A total of 502 tourists set foot in Bodrum via three planes that landed at the airport. Airport officials presented flowers to the arriving visitors.

After the welcoming ceremony, the tourists completed their procedures and proceeded to their hotels. A special cake featuring the flight route was prepared for the crew of the first arriving plane, and various refreshments were offered.

Tourism Activity Begins in Bodrum

Mustafa Demir, Chairman of the Bodrum Regional Representative Board of the Association of Turkish Travel Agencies (TÜRSAB), who attended the welcoming ceremony, expressed his excitement about the season’s start with flights arriving from the UK.

“The 2025 summer season has officially begun. Flights organized by tour operators continue to arrive. According to the information we have received, the occupancy rate on these flights is over 85%. We hope the season continues in this manner,” he said.

Demir also added that 140 planes are expected to land at Milas-Bodrum Airport between April 18 and 30.

Bodrum Hoteliers Hopeful for the Season

Ömer Faruk Dengiz, President of the Bodrum Hoteliers Association, stated that summer-scheduled flights have begun and that they were at the airport to welcome foreign tourists.

“As every year, we have made this welcome a tradition. With the first day of the holiday, we expect to achieve a good occupancy rate in our hotels. In the second week of April, we anticipate a significant increase in the number of flights. Currently, occupancy rates are looking quite promising,” he said.
