The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has once again set its course for India for the 81st IATA Annual General Meeting (AGM) and World Air Transport Summit (WATS), the largest yearly gathering of the global aviation industry. Taking place in New Delhi from 1–3 June 2025, the summit has registered approximately 1,700 participants, including leading airline CEOs, government officials, aviation professionals, and media representatives.
Prime Minister Modi Expected to Deliver Opening Speech
Organisers announced that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to deliver the opening address at the event. IndiGo, India’s leading airline, will host the AGM, which is being held in India for the first time since 1983.

IATA Director General Willie Walsh highlighted India’s rapid aviation growth:
