13 Years of Longing Ended: Turkish Airlines Makes First Flight to Damascus!

After a 13-year break, Turkish Airlines (THY) has resumed flights to Damascus. The first flight took off this morning at 9:00 a.m. from Istanbul Airport and is scheduled to land at Damascus International Airport. Alongside passengers, THY executives were also on board.

Direct Flights Three Days a Week

THY will operate flights to Damascus three times a week. Planes will depart from Istanbul Airport at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, heading directly to Damascus International Airport. Return flights from Damascus to Istanbul are scheduled for the same days at 1:00 p.m.

Festive Farewell for the First Flight

A large number of Syrian passengers gathered at the airport to celebrate this historic journey to their homeland. Waving Syrian flags and singing songs, passengers created a lively atmosphere at the terminal. The colorful celebrations underscored that this flight was not just about travel but also about reconnecting.
