13-Year-Old Passenger Sent Back to Kabul After Dangerous Journey

In Afghanistan, a 13-year-old boy flew to India’s capital, New Delhi, by hiding in the landing gear bay of a passenger aircraft. The incident occurred on Kam Air’s flight RQ-4401.

Blended in With Passengers to Board the Plane

According to Indian Express, the unnamed boy secretly entered Kabul Airport and blended in with the passengers. Without being noticed, he hid in the rear wheel bay of the aircraft and risked his life to reach India.

Alone on the Runway

When the plane landed in New Delhi, it was discovered that the boy was “wandering alone on the runway.” Detained by local security forces, the boy said during questioning that he embarked on the journey “out of curiosity.”

His Destination Was Tehran

Identified as being from Kunduz, the boy explained that his actual goal was to travel to Tehran, the capital of Iran, but he did not know that the plane he boarded was bound for New Delhi.

Sent Back to Kabul

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) of India announced that, following questioning, the boy was sent back to Kabul on the same aircraft he had arrived on. The incident was recorded as a striking example in terms of both airport and civil aviation security.
