In a post on social media, Minister Uraloğlu said:
“Another new record at Antalya Airport. On 19 July, we reached the year’s highest flight and passenger numbers with 216,028 passengers and 1,201 flights.”
Appreciation from DHMI Director General
Enes Çakmak, Director General of the State Airports Authority (DHMI), also shared the news on his X account. In his message, he stated:
“Despite the increasing number of passengers and aircraft at our airports, I sincerely thank all my colleagues who helped achieve this record while providing uninterrupted service beyond international standards.”
One Aircraft Landed Every 80 Seconds
With 1,201 aircraft movements, Antalya Airport saw an average of one landing every 80 seconds. Due to the intense traffic, some aircraft had to circle in holding patterns before landing. According to DHMI data, in 2024 the airport recorded a total of 234,099 aircraft movements and 39,230,733 passengers. These figures suggest new records are likely to be set by the end of 2025.
